Architectural & Mechanical Drafting
About
Growing up I was very fascinated with building things; using what could be scrounged up to create a Go-Kart out of 2 X 4’s and old dumpster wheels. Reflecting on this memory as I write, I am realizing that my childhood built contraptions were more a trophy of early on designing rather than a prideful build. By 18 my love for bicycles progressed and I fell deeply in love with motorcycles, as well as maintaining my motorcycle, leading me down the rabbit hole of fabrication and Welding. While enrolled at a vocational college my Welding instructor handed me the worse “blueprints” I had ever seen, they were literally written on a napkin, this was the very first moment I had the urge to learn about the design and drafting side of the industry. There I discovered I have a deadly allergy to aluminum; between the allergy and my new fascination in AutoCAD, I realized I was on the wrong side of the fabrication industry. I enrolled into a 2 year AAS Drafting and Design degree. There a surprise interest for architectural drafting sparked, and the love for mechanical drafting solidified with each software program presented to learn. My hunger for learning will forever go on, though it is time for me to begin perfecting my desired craft in mechanical and architectural drafting. I am so thankful and eager to join the drafting and design work field. My name is Zoey Woodward, and I am so thankful for your interest in my work, I as well would love to learn about you, your design interests, and your project!
